After recognizing the threat of climate change, this session explores various opportunities presented by bamboo to address this challenge. It highlights bamboo-based solutions and showcases industry leaders in this field to inspire others to contribute and adopt such solutions. The session covers various bamboo-based industries, including the use of bamboo biomass for green fuel, bamboo construction, furniture and artifacts, and engineering bamboo for various applications.
The panel discussions following the speakers’ sessions will provide deeper insights and will be summarized by Hon’ble Shri. Ajit Pawar. Based on his vast experience Shri. Pawar will provide further guidance with his rich inputs.

The solutions needs to be expedited, time is running short to cause effective and credible impact. Effective political leadership is crucial for driving change. Multilateral organizations share successful case studies from around the world, focusing on policies and governance structures that can lead to a green cover increase through large-scale bamboo plantations, benefiting various sections of society. The session discusses case studies, Indian government policies, and industry governance, identifying gaps and proposing collaborative efforts to boost the growth of the bamboo-based green industry in Maharashtra and India. UN representatives, government officials, industry experts, and farmer representatives will speak, followed by panel discussions.
A summary of the discussions and the way ahead will be shared by Shri. Devendra Fadnavis sharing his rich experience on large-scale implementation of new initiatives.

Sustaining any initiative involves market-driven approaches, consistent action, and periodic progress monitoring with corrective actions. This session addresses these aspects and presents challenges and opportunities offered by the bamboo-based green industry, featuring Union Cabinet Minister, Secretaries from the Government, Industry stalwarts, subject matter experts and, multiple stakeholders. The session also defines a roadmap for accelerating the green-based economy and encourages industry participation by signing a pledge for action.
The session will be summarized by Shri. Nitin Gadkari highlighting the secret behind accelerating and sustaining any new initiative through sustained action and market driven approach.
These sessions allow experts and stakeholders to discuss strategies, share experiences, and formulate plans to integrate bamboo into various sectors.
Session 5 : 08:00 to 08:30 pm - CONCLUDING SESSION AND THANKS GIVING
The concluding session presents reports compiled by Rapporteurs from each technical session, offering valuable insights.
A Thanks Giving Ceremony shall be conducted by Shri. Pasha Patel acknowledging the relevant stakeholders and sponsors for their contributions to initiate this conclave and seeking support from all stakeholders to make it into a sustained movement. A “White Paper” on Promoting Bamboo for Combating Global Warming to Attain Environmental and Human Sustainability will be prepared and distributed among all participants.
